Article: Social Media and Youth Mental Health

The U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory calls attention to the growing concerns about the effects of social media on youth mental health. This article reviews the positive and negative impacts of social media on children and adolescents’ mental health. It also shares different strategies policymakers, technology companies, parents and caregivers, and children and adolescents can implement to mitigate the potential harms of social media.
